There are millions of boards on the market. The boards on the market can be roughly divided into several types such as density board, woodworking board, particleboard, multi-layer board, etc., but the finishes of the boards can be rich and diverse! The board mainly relies on surface finishing to make it more high-end. Although the surface colors are diverse, there are generally four types of finishes.
Category 1: Melamine impregnated film paper
Melamine veneer refers to the process of printing patterns on the surface of decorative paper, immersing it in melamine glue, and making melamine decorative paper, which is then hot pressed onto the substrate at high temperatures. Because it requires a high level of flatness on the substrate surface of the board, it is often used as a surface finish for particleboard and medium density fiberboard. This type of board with melamine laminated veneer is commonly referred to as melamine board, with a surface texture that is wear-resistant, realistic, scratch resistant, and waterproof, making it widely used.
Category 2: PVC film coating finish
The biggest feature of PVC laminated veneer is its softness! So it is often used to wrap around fiberboard with good styling, which can help enhance the moisture resistance of fiberboard and also make Western classical shapes. But the biggest disadvantage of PVC film coating is that the double-sided price is too high. Generally, only the front side is covered, and the back side is mostly white triamine finish.
Category 3: baked paint finish
The baked paint finish is different from previous board finishes. The baked paint is sprayed on the substrate, which can directly spray all six sides of the board, with good waterproof and moisture-proof performance, and easy cleaning. But the disadvantage is that the production process is complex, the time is long, and the price is also high. And baking paint board is a board made by coating fiberboard with baking paint, mainly used for home furnishings such as cabinets and dining cabinets.
Category 4: Solid wood veneer finish
Apply solid wood veneer to MDF/particleboard/multi-layer solid wood boards using a high-temperature hot press machine to create a solid wood veneer decorative panel.
Due to the distinction between imported and domestically produced wood veneer, as well as between precious wood and ordinary wood, there is a wide range of choices available. Therefore, the grade of solid wood veneer decorative panels is determined by the type and thickness of the material used.
Solid wood veneer requires surface painting treatment. Due to different veneer and painting processes, the same type of veneer can easily achieve different effects. Therefore, solid wood veneer also has higher requirements for veneer and painting processes.
Solid wood veneer is currently the main decorative method adopted by high-end furniture both domestically and internationally due to its realistic, natural, and high-end feel, but it is relatively expensive compared to materials.
At present, there is a popular technology veneer in China, which is characterized by its realistic and natural texture! There are many patterns! No color difference! Due to its large size, it is highly favored by consumers.
